Terms and conditions for the hire of our campervans

This agreement is made between Michael Carney trading as Halifax Campervan Hire Ltd

The Yard 13c Asquith Bottom Mills, Sowerby Bridge, Halifax, HX63BT and the person(s) signing this agreement

Definitions of terms and conditions

In event of any discrepancies between these terms and conditions and any other Halifax Campervan Hire Ltd literature the provisions of these terms and conditions apply.

Halifax Campervan Hire Ltd

Owned by Michael Carney, The Yard 13c Asquith Bottom Mills, Sowerby Bridge, Halifax, HX63BT

Driver/Hirer(s)

The person(s) named as the driver(s) under the hire agreement.

Vehicle

Campervan under hire stated in the heading (vehicle details) in the hire agreement includes any other equipment i.e. Tyres, interior fixtures and fixtures, lighting and any other equipment in or on the campervan.                         

Hire agreement

Document that has been read and signed by hirer(s) upon collection, return of campervan                                            

It includes details of vehicle details, hirer(s) details, hire period, insurance and departure checklist.

Bookings

To secure a booking on a campervan of your choice you must pay a £100 non-refundable deposit and it must be paid at time of booking remaining full outstanding hire charge can be paid day of hire.

Cancellations

Any cancellation by hirer(s) 6 weeks and up to time of hire period booking deposit will be kept covering admin charges and website changes.

Should the campervan not be available due to unforeseen events, we reserve the right to offer an alternative campervan and, if a substitute is not available, our liability is limited to a full refund of monies received by us, there will be no other liability to you.

All rights are reserved to refuse any hire under any circumstance.

In the event a campervan is returned later than the agreed time, without our prior agreement, we reserve the right to make a charge of £25 per hour.

Driver/Hirer(s) insurance

Only the person(s) named as the driver(s) on the hire agreement may drive the campervan, the terms of the insurance policy restrict the hire of campervans to certain categories of driver(s), additional driver cover will be charged at £5.00 per day, all driver(s) must be confirmed in advance.

You must let us know at time of booking if you or any person who will drive

1. Have held a full United Kingdom driving licence for the last 2 years and is aged between 21-69 years of age.

2. All drivers must provide their original driving licence with current home address, DVLA check code, bank statement dated within 90 days with current home address and a utility bill dated within 90 days with current home address.

NOTE: FAILURE TO PROVIDE THIS DOCUMENTATION WILL RESULT IN CANCELLATION OF THE HIRE WITHOUT REFUND.

3. Ever had their licence revoked or had any restrictions imposed?

4. Been convicted of any driving offence or received any caution or fixed penalties during the past 5 years?

5. Any prosecution or police enquiry pending?

6. Defective vision or hearing (not corrected by glasses or hearing aid), diabetes or any disease, physical, mental infirmity, fits of any kind?

7. Been involved in an accident or loss in the last three years?

8. Had a proposal for motor insurance declined, cancelled or refused?

9. Had any renewal refused?

10. Had any specific terms or conditions imposed for Motor insurance?

11. The Insured vehicle shall not be used for the carriage of goods of an explosive, dangerous or hazardous nature or for the carriage of goods or passengers for hire and reward or any other form of profit or remuneration.

Fully Comprehensive insurance is included within the hire charge.

The vehicle is insured for the hire period only thus late return of the vehicle will incur a traffic offence under the road traffic act of 1988

Hirer(s) are advised to take out additional personal holiday insurance at there own cost.

Penalties and fines

All penalties and fines incurred in campervan during hire period must be paid in full by hirer(s) and all relevant information will be sent to the correct regulatory bodies.

Breakdown

In the event of a breakdown or accident, our breakdown partner will be there for you, details will be given to you at the start of the Hire period.

Fuel

Return fuel levels will be agreed at the commencement of each hire period, any campervan returned with incorrect fuel levels will be charged for missing full plus £20 refill fee.

Gas bottle

A gas bottle is supplied in the campervan at the start of hire period but due to environmental reasons we do not refill every time, all major campsites will refill the bottle and levels can be showed to you at commencement of hire.                   

Electric

An electric hook up cable is supplied at start of hire period with no extra cost, loss of cable will incur a £25 fee.  

Smoking

All campervans are strictly no smoking, any damages due to smoking will be charged for replacements.                                

Pets

One pet per van per hire charge of £50 one off cleaning fee, any damages incurred due to your pet will be charged for replacement of damaged item.  

Collection and return of campervan

All collection and return time and place will be arranged at time of booking unless otherwise stated at time of booking.

All campervans must be returned at agreed time or a late fee will incur at £25 per hour.

Damage/loss

You will be liable for all losses and costs incurred by us in the event of loss, damage to or theft of the vehicle, or campervans parts and equipment, loss or theft involves deception of the hirer or another party, or as a result of the keys remaining in the vehicle whilst it is unoccupied or was caused intentionally by you or your party.

You are responsible for all personal items left in the campervan both during and after hire, please ensure all personal items belonging to hirer are removed from campervan at end of hire, we have no responsibility for your personal items.

European Travel

Additional one-off insurance charge will apply if European travel is acceptable by our insurance partners and the cost will then be calculated.    

Data protection

We value you and your privacy and for that reason we will never pass on any of your information to any third party.

This Agreement

Any alterations and/or amendments to this agreement must be made in writing and must be signed by both parties.

this agreement will in all instances be governed by English law, and this agreement, including the terms and conditions, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.  no additional oral undertakings, warranties or agreements between the parties relating to the subject matter of this agreement can supersede the terms of this agreement without the prior consent of the parties.

We reserve the right to add or amend any charges referred to in this agreement without prior notice to you.
